Self Catering Log Cabins, Rowardennan, Loch Lomond

These lochside log cabins are set in the Scottish Highlands at Rowardennan which is principally the Rowardennan Hotel, the Rowardennan Youth Hostel just under a mile away, scattered hill cottages and the log cabins themselves.

There are 38 log cabins here on Loch Lomond, or lodges, on the estate which are all privately owned. A few are let out by their owners for holiday accommodation. Please note this web site represents just the log cabins that are let out.

At the southern part of Highlands of Scotland, Ben Lomond at just under 1,000 metres high provides a dramatic backdrop to this area and the site. There is a gentling sloping beach of sand and pebbles which is accessible most of the year except when the loch water is very high in winter.

Launching of power boats and sailing craft is quite easy and there is a fee to the owners of the site for moorings and assisted launch (there is no self launching and a mooring must be booked in advance – the lodge owner will advise further). There one slip as well as a fixed jetty.

This is a very peaceful area, the road finishes just past the hotel and most of the ‘traffic’ is walkers following the West Highland Way – one of Scotland’s most famous long hikes from Bearsden, north Glasgow to Fort William.
